VERITAS Receipt Verification

VERITAS is the open receipt format Evolve Edge AI uses to record compliance evidence. Each time evidence is submitted against a set of controls, the ledger issues a receipt that fingerprints the evidence, the exact version of every control it covers, and the receipt that came before it for the same organization.

Those fingerprints are SHA-256 hashes chained together, so changing any past record breaks every link after it. Verifying a receipt recomputes the hashes from what is stored and confirms the chain is intact, without revealing the evidence itself.

Controls are defined as versioned "control atoms". The public specification describes how atoms are hashed and how receipts reference them.
